A charming 17th century historical farmhouse strategically positioned in the heart of Chianti,  30km from Florence, Siena and San Gimignano. The estate, which has breathtaking views, is  surrounded by woods, vineyards and olive groves, and has been a working  farm for hundreds of years. It continues to produce  organic Chianti Classico wine and organic Extra Virgin Olive oil, both available to taste and purchase. In what was the main Villa, surrounded by a large garden, 2 separate, yet connecting,  apartments have been created on different floors. Each one has a large reception room, a fully equipped kitchen and 4 large en-suite bedrooms, decorated with frescoes, and  furnished with antique pieces. The villa can accommodate 16 guests with a  further 7 double rooms, each with a bathroom,  available in the main part of the farmhouse. 

Fata Rigna is ideal for medium sized weddings, maximum 30/32 guests, but it is possible to rent just the two large apartments in the main villa and if necessary any extra rooms in the main farmhouse. As the pool is shared with other guests staying in the main part of the farmhouse any party or dancing would have to finish before 11pm. For this reason we advise that the property is hired wholly for exclusive use. If bad weather should prevail, the outside tables in the garden cannot be used and it is possible to hire, at an extra cost, the original farm cellar, with its beautiful terracotta brick vaulted ceilings where any music and festivities can go on all night. The main villa is normally available as Bed & Breakfast accommodation, Saturday to Saturday (or minimum stay of 5 days) while the bedrooms in the farmhouse are available for shorter stays.

The property has a fully equipped professional kitchen which can be used for the wedding reception for up to 30 guests; but tables, chairs, cutlery and other items necessary for outdoor eating will have to be hired separately. Just 200 metres from the estate there is an excellent restaurant, offering traditional Tuscan specialities, and a catering service for weddings. The estate has its own small chapel where religious weddings can be celebrated.
